Boy, it’s been a weird week in vandalism. But while we can understand the sentiments behind the “bloody” hatchet blow to Detroit’s Christopher Columbus statue and the pro U-M graffiti on MSU’s Magic Johnson statue, the latest graffiti from Bloomfield Township is leaving us scratching our heads.

Apparently someone modified the “Woodward Ave.” sign on Woodward and Square Lake Road to say “Squidward Ave.” We know who Spongebob Squarepants’ ornery Squidward is — we’re not idiots — but as to what would possess someone to put the effort into this prank, well, we’re dumbfounded.
