See a drive-in movie
This time last summer, the low-budget made-in-Michigan horror film The Wretched topped the box-office charts, placing it among titans of cinema like Titanic and Avatar, thanks to a savvy idea to release the film in pandemic-proof drive-in theaters like Dearborn's Ford-Wyoming Drive-In (10400 Ford Rd., Dearborn; 313-846-6910; forddrivein.com). Well, this year the movies are back, with the ninth installment of the longstanding Fast & Furious franchise being marketed as no less than the return of Hollywood writ large along with Marvel's long-awaited Black Widow. We'll take a large popcorn with that.

"When you're still thinking about your amazing dinner 24 hours later, that's when you've stumbled upon a gem! My first visit to this restaurant left a lasting memory in what's sure to be a long romance of cravings!

I ordered the single meat dinner and added 1/4 rack of ribs. I was expecting the smoked Turkey to be dry, which was far from the truth! Moist, succulent and divine. The ribs were smoked to perfection and fell right off the bone. Very rich and tender.

The menu was so inviting, I decided to order a bunch of the sides to sample them all. Very impressive, each one made with superior ingredients and love.

I've found my perfect Barbeque fix and look forward to many meals in the future." — Nancy S. on Yelp

Buddy’s
    Various locations; buddyspizza.com
Detroit-style pizza is said to trace its origins to Gus Guerra, who owned neighborhood Buddy’s Rendezvous in 1946 when he asked his wife Anna to help him retool the menu. With a recipe based on her Sicilian mother’s dough, Buddy’s secret ingredient was the baking pan, which allegedly came from a car factory, and gave what became known as Detroit-style pizza its signature crispiness.
