As Amanda Love runs for Michigan secretary of state touting her Christian faith and commitment to family values, her own sister is publicly warning Republicans not to support her.
In a Facebook video posted last month, Adora Orlowski called Love “a truly evil person,” “a snake,” and a chronic liar, and urged party delegates to keep her “off the ballot for SOS.”
Love is seeking the Republican nomination for Michigan secretary of state and has campaigned on a platform emphasizing Christian faith, family values, transparency, and integrity.
“Unfortunately, Amanda Love is my sister,” Orlowski said in the video. “She is a truly evil person and will do anything to anyone to gain power and control. She has no prior career experience whatsoever and isn’t currently working. In fact, she’s never had a real job.”
Orlowski further alleged that Love’s “oldest son is the product of an affair she had with her boss,” which Orlowski claimed “started her pattern of having affairs when she’s working on campaigns.”
She added, “Mandy is a snake who lives with her life entwined in a web of lies.”
Orlowski also accused Love of making false felony sexual assault allegations against her and her husband in retaliation for what she described as a welfare check involving Love’s children in 2023. According to Orlowski, sheriff’s deputies and a Child Protective Services worker came to her home at night, separated the family, and required her son to undergo a forensic interview. She said law enforcement later dismissed the allegations.
“Thankfully, the sheriff’s department swiftly dismissed Amanda’s evil and false allegations,” Orlowski said. “Simply they said, no victim, no crime.”
Orlowski said her family retained lawyers and is pursuing civil and legal action.
In the same video, Orlowski also alleged that Love left her husband and five children in 2023 to pursue a relationship with a former GOP state House candidate and later retracted a divorce filing in order “to portray the image of having strong family values in order to run for secretary of state.”
“Mandy is a snake who lives with her life entwined in a web of lies,” Orlowski said. “She does not believe in God, admittedly. She does not go to church, does not have a job, neglects her children, remains in a political marriage only for appearances while having outside affairs. She’s campaigning on a platform of Christian faith, family values, transparency, and integrity. Now you decide if this is the kind of candidate you want in office.”
Metro Times reached out to Love for comment but has not received a response as of Monday afternoon. In a prior social media post, Love addressed the allegations, writing that the claims were “deeply hurtful” and “not grounded in fact.”
“I will not litigate in a public back and forth over private family matters,” Love wrote. “Some things should never be taken to social media, and I refuse to turn personal pain into public spectacle. I love my sister and always will. That will never change. I forgive my sister, and I forgive the campaign that chose to coordinate this attack.”
She added, “Choosing strength and dignity is not always the easiest path, but it is my path. As a Christian, who does attend church, I am moving forward with clarity, with conviction, and with my eyes set on victory.”
Love is one of several Republicans seeking the party’s nomination to replace Democratic Secretary of State Jocelyn Benson. The GOP nominee will be selected at the party’s convention ahead of the August primary.
The other candidates are Monica Yatooma, an Oakland County businesswoman from Commerce Township, and Macomb County Clerk Anthony Forlini. Both have raised unsubstantiated claims about election fraud.
