Real moral majority — Do you think that there is a moral imperative to address issues of poverty in this year’s presidential election? If so, you won’t want to miss the 7 p.m. interfaith service and rally at Detroit’s Central Methodist Church (Woodward Avenue and East Adams Street downtown) on Tuesday, Oct. 12, when the Call to Renewal Isaiah Platform Bus Tour hits town. For more information, call 313-537-2590.
holy voter rights! — A film taking a critical look at the 2000 election of George W. Bush (hence our favorite bumper sticker: Re-Defeat Bush!) will be held Friday, Oct. 15, at the Second Baptist Church of Detroit, 441 Monroe St. The Los Angeles Times said, “Illuminating and persuasive … this film incisively lays bare everything they say went wrong with the elections in Florida.” A panel discussion follows the film. The free program begins at 5 p.m. For details call 313-345-7326.
