A 45-year-old Detroit woman is in critical condition today after being set her on fire by her boyfriend. From The Detroit News:

“They had an argument and he doused her with gasoline and set her on fire,” Detroit Fire Department Arson Chief Charles Simms said. “Some bedding, the floor and carpeting also caught fire. She was taken to Detroit Receiving Hospital where she is in critical condition and on a ventilator.”

The suspect remains in custody. Simms tells the News he anticipates the boyfriend will be charged with attempted murder. The Freep reports the woman’s body suffered burns on her torso, arms, neck and face. Simms tells the Freep, “There’s a strong possibility she may not pull through.”
