The arrest of a Detroit police detective accused of drunken driving while possessing two pistols is just the latest Motor City cop to be charged with a crime.

Noe Garcia, of the 3rd precinct, is among at least 66 Detroit cops who have been arrested and charged since 2016. Charges against officers range from assault to accepting bribes.

Garcia was pulled over on I-75 in Auburn Hills last week and blew a blood-alcohol level of .14, nearly twice the legal limit to drive in Michigan. It’s also a crime to possess a firearm with a blood-alcohol limit above .02.

Police have launched an internal investigation into Garcia’s actions, The Detroit News reports.

In March, a 29-year-old probationary officer was arrested for allegedly selling drugs and threatening people. That same month, Detroit Officer Dewayne Jones was found guilty of assault and battery after viciously beating a mentally ill, naked woman in a hospital.
