Over the past year, metro Detroit has seen an influx of co-working facilities for entrepreneurs and freelance creatives seeking to grow their endeavors beyond the home office.

Starting Aug. 1, the PatchWork Collective will be Ferndale’s first drop-in co-working space. Located at Marshall and Woodward in the InkAddict building, PatchWork will offer workspaces, offices, conference rooms, as well as event spaces available hourly at daily rates.

“We’ve been talking about how Ferndale needs more office space for small
businesses for years,” says co-founder Lisa Schmidt. “But not everyone needs a
full-time office.”

In addition to the standard co-working offerings, PatchWork will host yoga classes, meet-up groups, workshops, and networking events. Monthly memberships will be made available for those looking for 24-7 access with additional perks like unlimited coffee and a copy center.
