It’s no secret that Michigan’s infrastructure is notoriously awful. Our roads have more potholes than smooth asphalt and we’re known for never-ending construction.

Well, a Wednesday morning accident on M-39 underscores just how terrible our roads are — both their overall condition and their truly horrendous design.

Yesterday, Michigan State Police released a dash cam video showing a sedan careening off the M-39 ramp to I-96, and smashing into a tow truck loaded with an already disabled vehicle. The driver had clearly lost control of the car, and to watch it burst into pieces is, er, unpleasant.

Jalopnik reports that no one was injured in the accident.
