Racks of vintage at the Lowery Estate in Farmington, one of the vintage sellers to be featured at this weekend's Ferndale Vintage Fashion Market.
More than a dozen vintage sellers from across the state will gather under one big roof in Ferndale tonight for a shopping extravaganza to last four days.
The
Ferndale Vintage Fashion Market, now in its ninth iteration, takes over the
Rust Belt Market every six months with wares from online and brick-and-mortar vintage sellers.
For Kory Trinks, who will be on hand with several racks of vintage from her Eastern Market store,
Blue Velvet Detroit, it’s more than just a sale — it’s an exercise in sustainable consumerism.
“It gives people a chance to buy sustainable, recyclable fashion instead of supporting the environmentally unfriendly and unethical fast-fashion industry,” says Trinks.
With 17 sellers on hand, plus dressing rooms, the vintage fashion market offers an almost department-store quality experience, without any of the guilt. And while you will be spending money, it'll all be going right back into the local economy.
Vendors to be featured include:
3rd Culture Vintage
Babbleon Antiques
Blue Velvet Detroit
Dolly Rockers Handmade & Vintage
Farmstead Vintage
Fashion ReWork
Flamingo Vintage
GFRvintage
Jerjam Vintage
Leah's Closet
