Here’s a bit of talk for the water cooler today: Lest we forget, it was four years ago at Comerica Park that Armando Galarraga pitched what should have gone down in history as a perfect game.

Unfortunately, a flubbed call by umpire Jim Joyce robbed Galarraga of the honor.

In baseball, as we all know, the umpire is always right. (Except when he isn’t.)

But the American pastime is a mostly civil one, and Joyce’s tearful apology to Galarraga after the game speaks volumes about what class acts they both really are.
