We’re not sure he should be announcing this too loudly, but we got a press release from Attorney General Bill Schuette noting that none other than Vice President Mike Pence has thrown his support behind his 2018 Michigan gubernatorial campaign.

Pence’s political action committee is donating $6,800 to Schuette’s campaign, according to The Detroit News. The PAC has contributed more than $200,000 to Republican candidates across the country who have been “supportive of the president’s agenda,” spokesman Marc Lotter tells the News.

Schuette has been determined to tout his ties to President Donald Trump’s administration. Previously, Trump and noted awful human Ted Nugent both endorsed Schuette. Earlier this month, Schuette was photographed cozying up to alt-right leader and former Trump adviser Steve Bannon at a Macomb county GOP fundraiser.

It could be a political gamble, considering the president’s plummeting popularity and low approval rating.

Michigan, you know what to do in November.
