Chene Park will host Erykah Badu, the Roots, Kamasi Washington, and more this summer

One of Detroit's most exciting concerts spaces for jazz and pop is back with a stacked lineup for the upcoming summer concert season.

Today, Chene Park announced the performers for the upcoming concert season and it's jam-packed with some of the biggest names in jazz, R&B, hip-hop, and funk.

Here are the complete schedules for both Chene Park concert series:

Concerts are spread between two different categories - Jazzy Nights on Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. and the Summer Weekends series which features artists outside of jazz.

Highlights include Erykah Badu and Nas on Saturday, June 23, Kamasi Washington (who ripped downtown Detroit apart via saxophone at last summer's Detroit Jazz Fest) on Wednesday, July 25, the Roots and Common on Friday, July 27, and Earth, Wind, and Fire on Saturday, Aug. 18.

Chene Park Amphitheater is an outdoor concert venue located near the GM Renaissance Center on the Detroit River. Able to hold 5,000 guests in the seats and 1,000 more on the lawn, this spot is a great venue for outdoor live music when the weather is warm and the breeze from the river is blowing.
