Sia
1000 Forms of Fear
RCA/Monkey Puzzle Record

This Australian singer — who has spent the past four years avoiding the spotlight by co-writing songs for artists like David Guetta, Rihanna, and Eminem — was only coaxed into a record deal on the condition that she didn’t have to tour or do any publicity. One of her few TV appearances for this album featured a ballet dancer wearing Sia’s signature blond bob while the singer performed with her back to the audience. Of course, this attempt at anti-publicity is necessary because, in the end, 1000 Forms of Fear is an album full of bland, overproduced Rihanna deep cuts.
