Olivia Millerschin
Over the Weather
Self-released

Recently up for a couple of Detroit Music Awards, Olivia Millerschin, 18, already has a full-length album under her belt (which includes the single that won her a John Lennon Songwriting Contest Award: “Screw Valentine’s Day”). Over the Weather, her follow-up EP, is a great addition to her fledgling discography, branching out from her previously guitar- and ukulele-heavy work. Piano-driven and lyrically beautiful and funny, Millerschin’s five brand-new tunes show a native Michigander who could be the next Regina Spektor. Showcasing both her vocal and emotional range, Over the Weather is quite lovely, if not a touch monotone. —Alysa Offman
