This Saturday, Oct. 4, the Ford Resource Engagement Center at the Mexicantown Mercado will host the Native American Heritage Celebration. The free concert is the last in the Celebrating Southwest Concert Series and will feature music by Spirits Rising and Swamp Singers, dancers, an Ojibwe exhibition, a pow wow, an exhibition for the Delray Mural Project, and more.

The Mercado is located at 2826 Bagley, Detroit. More information is available on the event’s Facebook page.

(The poster, by the way, was illustrated by my former classmate, the great Detroit-based illustrator James Noellert.)
