Look out for these exciting new eateries that are about to debut in Detroit this year.

Mink 1701 Trumbull Ave., Detroit Mink, a new restaurant and wine bar, will open mid-October in Islandview. Mink is a collaboration between the owners Folk and Marrow, two of Detroit’s best-loved restaurants. Kiki Louya, Rohani Foulkes, Sarah Welch, and Ping Ho are teaming up for a new venture that will focus on a curated wine menu and selection of small dishes, including oysters and shrimp. Baobab Fare 6568 Woodward Ave., Detroit; 313-266-5199; baobobfare.com This East African spot will open this fall in Detroit, offering a variety of breakfast and lunch options. Owned by Mamba Hamissi and Nadia Nijimbere, both refugees from Burundi, Baobob Fare has been holding pop-ups around Detroit ahead of the opening of a brick-and-mortar storefront. Brewery Faisan 1087 Beaufait St., Detroit; breweryfaisan.com In early October, this Belgian-style brewery will open in Detroit’s Islandview neighborhood. Buddy’s Pizza 1555 Broadway St., Detroit; buddyspizza.com  A new location of this Detroit-area pizza chain is opening in downtown Detroit near the Madison building. The 200-seat shop will have sit-in dining as well as grab-and-go service, slinging slices of its classic square pizza in variations such as the Detroit Public TV (pepperoni galore) or the Henry Ford (red onion, bleu cheese, smoked bacon, and ground beef). Eastern Market Brewing Co. 567 Livernois St., Ferndale This mainstay of Eastern Market is expanding with a new Ferndale location. Eastern Market Brewing Co. is purchasing Axle Brewing’s 10,000-square-foot Livernois Tap building, and the new brewpub — tentatively dubbed the Ferndale project — will offer a new, unique menu. Esto’s Garage 1811 Parker St., Detroit; 313-290-2963; estosgarage.com Esto’s Garage, Detroit’s favorite pop-up taco shop, will soon open a permanent location. Owner Esteban Castro is aiming for a November or December opening in Detroit’s West Village neighborhood next to Sister Pie. The Highlands 400 Renaissance Center; Detroit; highlandsdetroit.com The Highlands, a group of three restaurants and bars, will open on the top of the Renaissance Center in November. Highlands Steakhouse will offer gourmet steaks, and Hearth 71 will specialize in hearth-cooked dishes. The High Bar will offer a variety of whiskeys. Ima Midtown 4870 Cass Ave., Detroit; imanoodles.com  A third location of Chef Mike Ransom’s acclaimed noodle bar Ima is scheduled to open this fall near the Wayne State University campus in Midtown. Ima’s current shops in Corktown and Madison Heights serve up udon noodles and rice bowls, plus appetizers, beer, wine, and sake. Leila 1249 Griswold St., Detroit; leiladetroit.com Father-son duo Sameer and Samy Eid, owners of Phoenicia and Forest in Birmingham, are opening another restaurant in downtown Detroit. Michigan & Trumbull 1439 W. Elizabeth St., Detroit; michiganandtrumbull.pizza This Detroit-style pizza joint, which is currently serving at Fort Street Galley, will soon have its very own shop in Corktown beginning in November. Poke Burri 70 W. Alexandrine St., Detroit; pokeburri.com  This Atlanta-based poke chain is opening its first Detroit location in the former Le Petit Zinc space in the lobby of Strathmore Apartments in Midtown. Tenacity Craft 8517 Second Ave., Detroit; tenacitybrewing.com  Tenacity Brewing, a Flint-based brewery, is opening a Virginia Park location this fall. The menu will include cider and beer made on-site, as well as coffee, baked goods, tacos, burritos, and nachos. Axe and the Corner 1375 Michigan Ave., Detroit; 248-291-5650; thecornerferndale.com  A Corktown branch of this Ferndale ax-throwing bar will open fall in late fall or early winter. Tin Roof 47 E. Adams Ave., Detroit; tinroofdetroit.com  Tin Roof, a chain of bars and live music venues with seventeen locations across the country, is opening a Detroit branch this fall. Tin Roof’s Nashville origins give the menu its signature Southern touch (think made-from-scratch fries, wings, and hot chicken). Tin Roof, which is located next to Comerica Park, will hold pop-ups on their patio during all Lions games and all Tigers home weekend games ahead of their November opening.
