After a bit of a delay, Spread Deli and Coffee is finally open in Midtown.
The spot, located at 4215 Cass Ave., Detroit, is hosting a soft opening Monday from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. According to the company’s Instagram, anyone who stops by before noon will get a free coffee. They’ll also be serving avocado toast and bagels, with five different sandwiches available for lunch.
The project was delayed slightly — back in May, co-owner Terry Yatooma told Metro Times they intended to open in July. But Yatooma says the restaurant will now hold regular hours: 7 a.m.-7 p.m. Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, and 8 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday.
“It’s going to be clean-cut, nothing too pretentious, a couple coffee items, something where people can come in, relax, and have a nice cup of coffee,” Terry Yatooma previously told MT.
“It’s got great foot traffic, and it’s right by Wayne State … and downtown,” Yatooma, who has long had his eye on the location, told MT. “I like the environment here, and to be a part of this community is going to be a blessing.”
