It’s January, which means it’s time for Eater Detroit to release their quarterly list of top essential local restaurants.
The latest edition, which was released on Jan. 6, features 38 distinct eateries, many of which MT itself has reviewed in recent months.

The list is Eater’s answer to that age-old question, “Can you recommend a restaurant…” These are not the best restaurants in the city, nor are they the most buzzy (check the monthly Heat Map for that). These are the restaurants that represent the city’s flavor, history, and style. Some are classics, while others are relative newbies.
Take a peek at the list right here, and go enjoy some of the fine eating establishments Detroit has to offer.
