Detroit-based mobile coffee shop will bring your coffee break to you

A few years ago food trucks were the thing in metro Detroit. Arguably, they are still pretty popular. In fact, the whole mobile concept is working for a lot of folks who aren't ready to add rent to their overhead, but still want to get their fledgling business off the ground.

And still other businesses just like the idea of being on wheels.

Drifter Coffee is a new mobile coffee shop that's celebrating its grand opening this Sunday. The little Serro-Scotty-Guacho-camper-turned-café plans to park at the corner of Trumbull and Merrick in Woodbridge, Detroit from 3 to 7 p.m.

Drifter Coffee is the brainchild of a local barista and entrepreneurial student. While Alleah Webb was working at a coffee shop and attending college, she decided this was exactly what she wanted to be doing. So, she purchased a beat-up silver and Tiffany blue trailer and got to work renovating it and raising money to get Drifter Coffee on the road.

The coffee shop will served local brands like Dessert Oasis Coffee Roasters and Espresso Elevado.
