Spring is officially marked by a couple things in Detroit: Tigers opening day, and the Marche du Nain Rouge parade. A bright, sunny Sunday brought out revelers to chase away the folkloric imp in a tradition that started in 2010. The festivities started at noon with entertainment before the parade, which may have been a record-breaker with what looked like a few thousand in the parade and lined along the sidewalks. At the end of the parade, Nain Rouge appeared in good spirits with a dance routine, daring the crowd that
maybe he’s just been getting a bad rap all along.
