When it comes to drinking and dining, nothing beats a rooftop patio. Thankfully, there are a growing number of places to enjoy a summer night outside in metro Detroit. Here are some of our favorites.

Kamper’s Rooftop Lounge – 1265 Washington Blvd., Detroit Bedrock’s $400 million development of Detroit’s historic Book Tower features a rooftop bar, which opened in October 2023. Tin Roof Detroit – 47 East Adams Ave., Detroit This live-music bar chain opened a Detroit location right outside of Comerica Park in 2020, replacing Cheli’s Chili. Lumen – 1903 Grand River Ave., Detroit. The patio-masters at Lumen offer one patio on the ground level in Beacon Park, but the better bet is the rooftop patio with views of the GAR building and the Detroit skyline.
Cielo at Cambria Detroit – 600 W. Lafayette, Detroit This fairly new rooftop bar serves up signature craft cocktails curated by master mixologists. Pinky’s Rooftop – 100 S Main St. 2nd Level, Royal Oak Pinky’s, a rooftop patio and bar, offers a unique, vintage vibe and a lush rooftop outdoor garden. Mike’s On The Water – 24600 Jefferson Ave., St. Clair Shores The well-loved St. Clair Shores restaurant and bar offers a rooftop view of the surrounding marinas for top-notch waterfront dining. And Mike plans to install a food truck on the roof this summer, so it’s also going to be the most unique rooftop patios in town.
