Usually the NBA Draft is an exciting day for every other NBA team but the Detroit Pistons. That is, until 2021. For the first time in 51 years, the Detroit Pistons held the coveted top overall draft selection.

This year the Pistons chose Oklahoma State’s Cade Cunningham, who didn’t let Detroit down by sporting a pair of Cartier “Buffs” glasses after the announcement.

Needless to say Detroit definitely celebrated the nod and appreciated Cunningham’s donning of an iconic piece of Detroit culture. Twitter let it be known that they’re ready to support Cartier Cade, or Cade Icewood, whichever name sticks.
