A leisurely 25.6-mile ride through the city of Detroit, Tour de Troit promises cyclists will experience “breathtaking sights” all over Motown. The ride will be escorted by police, meaning riders can legally bike through the streets.
Throughout the ride, bikers will be able to take a break at sanctioned pit stops that will offer snacks and mechanical support. If you’re up for a bigger challenge, there is also a metric century (62-mile) option, but riders will be expected to arrive back at Roosevelt Park by 1 p.m. Refreshments and entertainment at Roosevelt Park will follow the ride.
The ride takes place on Saturday, Sept. 16, starting at Roosevelt Park, 2405 Vernor Hwy., Detroit. For more info go to tour-de-troit.org. Tickets are $70.
