The mysterious horseman of Northwest Detroit

Usually, when people compare Detroit to the Wild West, it really rubs us the wrong way.

But when you see a dude riding a horse at Greenfield and Seven Mile roads, maybe it's apt. It does look like the West. And it's kinda wild.

The photo was forwarded to us by a west side reader who snapped it as the rider trotted along in front of an oil and lube shop on Greenfield Road. After the photo was posted to the shutterbug's social media account, others chimed in recognizing the young man.

That's where we began losing the scent. We called the deputy district supervisor, who knew nothing. We called the stables of DPD's mounted unit, and couldn't get through. For now, we've lost the trail of our Greenfield gaucho.
