No, Nick Cave the artist is not the same as Nick Cave the musician

Based on some Internet chatter we've seen, it seems like there's a bit of confusion surrounding news that artist Nick Cave will be staging an exhibition in and around Detroit this summer.

No, we're not talking about the Australian rocker and frontman of Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. We're talking about the performance artist, a Cranbrook Academy of Art alum famous for his work creating colorful, wearable sculptures he calls Soundsuits.

If you found yourself confused, you're not alone — even the NME goofed on this one, once posting a story conflating the two Nick Caves before pulling it without comment.

To reiterate: Nick Cave the visual artist is in fact, a different guy than Nick Cave the rocker. In fact, here's photographic evidence of the two Nick Caves meeting at a New York gig of Cave the rocker's in 2013, proving the two Nick Caves are not one in the same. Glad we could help. You're welcome.
