Congrats to Oak Park native and U-M alum Carrie Keranen for landing a role voicing Satsuki Kiruin, the villain in a new anime called Kill la Kill that premiered on Cartoon Network's Toonami on Feb. 7.

OK, the cartoon sounds really fucking weird — something about women who have to kill each other by wearing sentient, bloodythirsty (and of course, skimpy) "armor." According to the show's official site, "Satsuki is the student council president who rules over Honnouji Academy with unquestionable force and fear. She carries her beloved sword 'Bakuzan' by her side."

Anime fans might recognize Keranen from English dubs for other shows like Pokémon, YuGiOh, and Naruto. Here's what she looks like next to her character:

We see a little bit of a resemblance!

Kill la Kill airs at 12:30 a.m. Saturday on Cartoon Network.
