Around here, we love vintage. And it seems like our fellow metro Detroiters do, too. Consider the number of vintage, antique, and resale shops that can be found in the area: Either we're all broke or we're keen on items that have a background story, known or unknown.

Flossy's Suitcase is just one of many, many local shops that sells pre-owned goods, but they're doing their best to make themselves stand out. The shop is owned by a pair of women that have a combined 20 years of retail, styling and customer service experience. They poured that experience into this endeavor, hoping to bring something different to Highland Park.

And the shop is different, that's for sure.

Flossy's Suitcase sells vintage clothing, jewelry, home decor, records, photographs, accessories, furniture, shoes, lamps, knickknacks, and more. And while none of that is particularly remarkable, it's what they do in the shop that makes it special.

Flossy's Suitcase offers personal styling as well as afternoon tea, both of which are concepts that are sort of lost arts for the middle class.
