This soulful Detroit trio fronted by vocalist Ali Shea with Adam Mercer and David Mackinder (formally of Fireworks) are sort of big time and have been the talk of the town over at Paste and Noisey since their 2016 record Daydreams. With sort of a Motown-meets-contemporary-pop flair, Empty Houses is feel-good music at it’s finest and could be suited for romantic comedies, musical episodes of sitcoms, or something Zooey Deschanel wishes she could have been a part of.
