Former Central Michigan University and Indianapolis Colts running back Zurlon Tipton fatally shot himself at a Roseville car dealership Tuesday, reports
WXYZ.
According to the news station, the 26-year-old, who played for the Colts for two years before being dropped in December, pulled up to Mike Rhiel's Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram Dealership at around 9:30 a.m. this morning, when a gun — one of two in his backpack — went off as he was putting something away. A bullet hit him in the stomach before he was rushed to nearby hospital.
Scripps' Indianapolis station WRTV is reporting that this past December, around the time Tipton was waived from the Colts team, he was arrested after an altercation
at a girlfriend's house and arrested
for criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon. "In that incident, Tipton is accused of firing an assault rifle outside her home," WXYZ writes.
