Techno heads, it’s almost your time to shine.
Detroit’s Movement Music Festival released its full lineup for its 2025 event, set to return to Hart Plaza for Memorial Day Weekend.
Additions to the bill include headliner Charlotte de Witte, who joins previously announced headliners Carl Cox and John Summit.
“I’m beyond excited to return to the main stage of Detroit Movement Festival,” de Witte, a Belgian DJ, says in a statement. “The city and its music have inspired me so much throughout my life and career. I can’t wait to share some unforgettable moments with you all on the dance floor.”
The full lineup features more than 115 acts, including recent Mixmag cover girl horsegiirL, A$AP Mob founding member FERG, DJ (and Abbott Elementary star) Zack Fox, and more.
A proudly Detroit festival, there are also plenty of hometown acts added — like Moodymann (tapped for a b2b set with Carl Craig featuring Underground Resistance co-founder Mike Banks), Huey Mnemonic, Stacey Pullen, Jon Dixon, DJ Holographic, Waajeed b2b Ladymonix, Rimarkable, Stacey Hotwaxx Hale, Mike “Agent X” Clark, Norm Talley, Whodat, Beige, Augustus Williams, AK, Kevin Reynolds, Shigeto, SILLYGIRLCARMEN, Peter Croce, and many others.
They all join a batch of initially announced Movement 2025 acts including Detroit’s Carl Craig, HiTech, and DJ Minx, in addition to national and international names like Jamie xx, Boys Noize, Ela Minus, Sara Landry, and Sama’ Abdulhadi.
The festival also includes a number of local showcases like Craig’s Detroit Love, Kevin Saunderon’s KMS Records, DJ Minx’s House Your Life, and new this year, Waajeed’s Underground Music Academy (an organization that offers education and mentorship for Detroit’s next generation of DJs). Showcase lineups will be announced closer to the festival.
As usual, the event is independently produced by Paxahau, which is also producing AfroFuture, an African music festival set to make its U.S. debut in Detroit this summer. Paxahau is also the longtime operations partner for the Detroit Jazz Festival during Labor Day Weekend.
