The passing of Detroit legend Aretha Franklin was felt far and wide yesterday.

Last night, pop sensation Ariana Grande's appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon was originally intended to promote her new album Sweetener. However, while she was there she made sure to pay tribute to the recently departed Queen of Soul with a touching rendition of "(You Make Me Feel) Like a Natural Woman."

Grande was reluctant to perform the tribute, TMZ reports, fearing she would be too emotional considering the circumstances. Whether or not its true if she cried backstage following the performance, Grande and house band, The Roots, managed to imbue that emotion into a damn fine performance. Although it's impossible to match Aretha's majesty, Grande & Co. did their part to honor her insurmountable legacy.

Once you're done enjoying the tribute, be sure to check out how Aretha did it.
