Career-spanning '4U: A Symphonic Celebration of Prince' pays tribute at the Fox Theatre

The untimely death of icon Prince Rogers Nelson has left a Corvette-sized hole in our collective hearts.

The last time Prince performed in Detroit he took to the Fox Theatre stage for a sold-out performance announced just days before as part of his Hit N' Run Tour. Fittingly, just three years later, the only Prince Estate-approved tribute will honor the Purple One on the same stage. 4U: A Symphonic Celebration of Prince will draw from his extensive music catalog as performed by a full symphony orchestra, as curated by Prince superfan, Questlove, along with a live band accompanied by archival photos and video footage.

4U: A Symphonic Celebration of Prince will take place at 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 28 at the Fox Theatre;  2211 Woodward Ave., Detroit; 313-471-3200; 313presents.com; Tickets start at $29.50.



This performance has nothing to do with Detroit or the Fox Theatre but this is Prince singing "Purple Rain" in the actual fucking rain at the SuperBowl XLI in 2007. You're welcome.
