Tommy Wiseau will host midnight screenings of 'The Room' and it's bound to get weird
Tommy Wiseau Productions

While there are people who still confuse the Academy Award-winning Brie Larson-led movie Room with Tommy Wiseau’s cinematic disaster-piece The Room, there are hordes of people who live and die by three words: “Oh hai, Mark!”

Celebrating 16 years as the best worst movie ever made, The Room, if nothing else, is a midnight movie classic complete with its own The Rocky Horror Picture Show-esque audience participation cues to throw plastic spoons, footballs, and repeat lines that have little relevance to the plotless-plot. Wiseau, the film’s writer, director, and geographically confused vampiric star will emcee the back-to-back screenings with a Q&A that will likely complicate everything you already know about this work of madness.

The Room screenings begin at midnight on Friday, Jan. 18 and Saturday, Jan. 19 at the Main Art Theatre; 118 North Main St., Royal Oak; 248-542-5198; landmarktheatres.com; Tickets are $15.
