Organizers of Ford Arts, Beats & Eats announced some new details about this year's festival that will likely improve the experience of attending the enormous Labor Day weekend event.

First, they'll once again be partnering with the Detroit Institute of Arts, which is sure to vastly improve the "Arts" portion of the festival. According to a release the partnership will bring two new features to the fair.

DIA Away: Think Like an Artist will add a hands-on dimension to the festival with a free-to-use classroom found inside a fully-furnished double-expanded trailer. There, users will learn how artists's brains work and how to think outside of the box, as it were.

Artist Demonstrations are the second facet to the DIA's new offerings at the festival. Each day, three of the fair's featured artists will do onstage demonstrations, offering a visual of one of their ongoing projects, explaining how they do what they do. Each demonstration will be between 15 and 30 minutes.

Other announcements include extended partnerships with Ford, Soaring Eagle Casino, OUR Credit Union, and Vibe Credit Union as well as a 5K and 10K that will have local bands and DJs performing along the race route.
