The beat of a generation, the soul of a nation, and a musical revolution — Motown changed the world. And behind it all? Motown Records founder Berry Gordy.

The Tony Award-nominated jukebox musical based on Gordy’s autobiography To Be Loved: The Music, the Magic, the Memories of Motown, Motown: The Musical takes us back to where it all started — right here at home. Featuring over 60 songs by the likes of the Supremes, the Jackson 5, and Smokey Robinson (to name a few), Motown: The Musical traces the origins of the record label through flashbacks during a 25th-anniversary celebration.

Motown: The Musical begins Saturday, June 2 through Sunday, June 10 at the Fisher Theatre; Performance times vary; 3011 W. Grand Blvd., Detroit; 313-872-1000; broadwayindetroit.org; Tickets start at $45.
