Lightfest at Hines Park Hines Park, 7651 Merriman Rd., Westland; 734-261-1990 More than 47 giant animated displays will be up for the Midwest’s largest and longest light show — the drive is approximately 4.5 miles long. Holiday Nights at Greenfield Village 20900 Oakwood Blvd., Dearborn; 20900 Oakwood Blvd, 313-982-6001 Greenfield Village is set to come alive with holiday lights, food, warm beverages, and festivities. Follow the lantern-lit paths and merry Christmas lights to be greeted by merrymakers, carolers, sleigh bells, live reindeer, ice skaters, and more. A horse drawn wagon ride is yours if you want it. Lake Shore Drive Between Fisher and Nine Mile Roads, along Lake St. Clair, Grosse Pointe Every year, the homes on Lake Shore Drive light up with spectacular displays and decorations. Lincoln Park Fantasyland 3240 Ferris Ave., Lincoln Park; 313-386-0140 While this downriver holiday staple isn’t exactly a Christmas light display, it’s a one-of-a-kind holiday outing we’d be remiss to leave out. Kids from 1 to 92 can look through displays that represent A Christmas Story, the nativity, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, and other holiday stories. Plus, Santa Claus is right upstairs. My Light Show 2651 Cherokee Hills Circle, Waterford, MI 48328 My Light Show’s 2018 show will be held on Thursday evenings 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. and Fridays and Saturdays from 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. Turn your radio to 100.7 FM to hear the soundtrack that goes along with the show. Nite Lites of Jackson Michigan International Speedway US-12 Entrance only, 12626 US-12, Brooklyn The Nite Lites of Jackson has relocated to Michigan International Speedway this year. You can experience the show from 5:30-9 p.m. Sunday thru Thursday and 5:30-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Each car is $20, $35 per mini-bus, and $65 per tour bus. Open until Dec 31. Trail of Lights 7683 S Croton Hardy Dr., Newaygo; 231-652-4642 The Trail of Lights has relocated this year and joined forces with the River Valley Chamber of Commerce. The new show which is still “to be announced” will be held in Croton at Croton Township Campground and will be a drive-thru Christmas show. Wayne County Lightfest 7651 Merriman Rd., Westland Situated on Merriman Road between Warren Avenue and Ann Arbor Trail, the Wayne County Lightfest will run until Dec. 31. Wild Lights 8450 W. 10 Mile Rd., Royal Oak; 248-541-5717 Five million LED lights will illuminate trees, buildings, and more than 230 animal sculptures inside the Detroit Zoo this holiday season. Winter Snow Fun Holiday Parade Third Street/Marquette Commons The seventh annual Winter Snow Fun Holiday Parade and 42nd annual city of Marquette Tree Lighting is Friday, Dec. 1. Bundle up with friends and family as illuminated floats and colorful carolers transform Third Street into a magical scene from the North Pole. Bronner’s CHRISTmas Wonderland 25 Christmas Ln., Frankenmuth; 989-652-9931 The most famous place to go, aside from the North Pole, for Christmas is Bronner’s. The inside is completely decorated with every ornament imaginable and the winter wonderland also offers a small light drive-thru in the front of its opening. Campus Martius 800 Woodward Ave., Detroit; 313-963-2225 Campus Martius hosts a number of events throughout the year, and winter is no different. Visit the park and be dazzled by the 19,000 LED lights strung upon the enormous Christmas tree. While you’re down there you can also pass the time by ice skating. The rink is open until March 3rd. The Christmas Lite Show 4500 W. River Dr., NE Comstock Park; 616-745-9955 This animated drive-thru light show is celebrating its 20th year in operation, and they’ll have an extended trail with an additional 10,000 lights and new displays. Christmas at Crossroads Holiday Magic 6140 Bray Rd., Flint; 810-736-7100 ext. 6 This winter wonderland has costumed villagers, a paddlewheel riverboat, a steam railroad, model trains, craft demonstrations, holiday music, visits from Santa and, of course, beautiful bright lights. The Crossroads Village & Huckleberry Railroad will operate during all weather, only closing during state mandated emergencies.
