In today’s america, those with the means to enjoy nutritious meals are tragically outnumbered by the millions who subsist on processed, fat-laden foodstuffs. The war on poverty of 50 years ago has been transformed into a war on the poor. In the face of that, there are a number of individuals and organizations that are filling the voids. In this year’s Food Issue, get to meet several Detroiters who are helping and succeeding in the local marketplace.
