What a week for music…

Jamaican Queens are serving wormfood (new album on their own Notown records). They’re playing down at Trinosophes with a fine collection of post-techno, leftfield-hip-hop and NuWeird-electro outfits.

The Go are throwing a Fiesta tonight at the Lager House – with their friends from Burger Records (as well as the Wolfman Band).

We’re just days away from Record Store Day.

And we’re even closer to (or are already being delightfully horrified-by) the release of a considerable trifecta of weird-cool-craziness from freak-rock icons like The Flaming Lips, The Yeah Yeah Yeah’s and elusively sensationalist electronica duo The Knife.

I’m trying to wrap my head around all three of their respective releases: The Terror, Mosquito and Shaking The Habitual. That’s a daunting task for just one day. It’s invigorating to be that overwhelmed, in such a fulfilling way, by music.
