Ever hear that saying “It’s a man’s world”? Well, that’s utter fucking bullshit (thanks in part to Uma Thurman, aka Beatrix Kiddo, aka The Bride, aka Black Mamba). Quentin Tarantino’s foray into samurai revenge cinema crossed with spaghetti westerns put sword-wielding, revenge-seeking babes center stage in Kill Bill Vol. 1. Though Thurman’s character seeks revenge on a bevy of ruthless female assassins played by Daryl Hannah, Lucy Liu, and Vivica A. Fox, it’s only one man she’s after. Oh, and the Crazy 88's. And Gogo. OK — she’s got so much beef, there had to be a sequel.

Kill Bill Volume 1 screenings begin at midnight on Friday, March 1 and Saturday, March 2; 118 N. Main St., Royal Oak; 248-542-5198;; Tickets are $7.
