Motor City Comic Con announced today that George Takei will be a guest of honor at their annual convention this spring.

Takei, the Star Trek star and social media influencer, is the convention’s most revered guest announced to date. Having spent his childhood in Japanese internment camps in the United States, Takei rose beyond his oppression to star not only in the classic sci-fi series, but to make dozens of guest appearances on television, star in Broadway musicals and become a leading advocate for social justice and LGBTQ rights.

Takei will host a panel discussion and will also be available for autographs, which start at $80. Photos with George Takei are also available for $100.

Takei will be joined by dozens of other guests, including Felicia Day, Rainn Wilson from The Office and Pauly Shore.

The 30th annual Motor City Comic Con takes place from May 17 through May 19 at the Suburban Collection Showplace in Novi. Visit their website for ticket information.
