Every kiss does not begin with Kay, OK? And who the heck is this Jared guy, anyway? Keep your Valentine’s Day gift-giving local, handmade, and free of blood diamonds.

For seven years, VLNTNSDYMRKT has put together an independent market for creatives and the creatively challenged looking for a special way to say ILY IRL. Handmade Detroit (those crafty folks who put on the Detroit Urban Craft Fair) will host the 2019 iteration, which boasts more than 25 vendors, live music, and make-and-take stations, as well as tutorials and samples.

VLNTNSDYMRKT runs from noon-5 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 10 at the Majestic Complex; 4140 Woodward Ave., Detroit; 313-833-9700;; Admission is $10 for those wanting to partake in make-and-take workshops and $1 for shoppers.
