If we’ve learned anything over the years, it’s that Samuel L. Jackson can save the motherfucking day any damn day (and can do so with some of the most iconic one-liners in cinema history).

In the case of 2006’s it’s-so-bad-it’s-good cult favorite Snakes on a Plane, Jackson does more than play the hero — he’s an airborne snake slayer. The beauty of Snakes on a Plane is that everything you need to know is in the title. Add some post-9/11 trust issues, a romantic storyline, and a whole lot of turbulence, and you’ve got a first-class flight to one of the best worst movies about snakes and planes.

"Snakes on a Plane" screenings begin at midnight on Friday, Jan. 4 and Saturday, Jan. 5 at the Main Art Theatre; 118 N. Main St., Royal Oak; 248-542-5198; landmarktheatres.com; Tickets are $7.
