As the first African-American woman to graduate with her MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Arts in metalsmithing, Detroit multidisciplinary artist Tiff Massey has a lot to say — and she’s letting her work speak for itself in her solo exhibition “Say It Loud.”

Massey’s work is wide-ranging from wearable sculptural jewelry to large-scale public displays as well as interactive works. “Say It Loud” finds Massey challenging dimensions and depths with mixed-use materials and mediums, which elevates her creative dialogue of space, race, and gender politics. Massey’s show will run in conjunction with Library Street Collective’s opening of “Homemade,” curated by McArthur Binion, which will feature work from 11 Detroit artists.

Tiff Massey's "Say It Loud" opening begins at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27 at Library Street Collective and will remain on display until Jan. 12.; 1260 Library St., Detroit; 313-600-7443; lscgallery.com; Event is free.
