Posted By on Thu, Sep 13, 2018 at 4:58 PM

There is power in numbers and when it comes to the annual Tour de Troit event, the number is more than 5,000 expected wheeled participants with a to-date total of $250,000 raised to aid in the development of urban greenways and to promote bicycle safety in Detroit.

Saturday, Sept. 15, Tour de Troit will return for its 17th ride with a new 29-mile route which will include urban farms in the Brightmoor community as well as the Grandmont-Rosedale neighborhood, Southwest, and Rouge Park. A 62-mile ride is available for the more seasoned rider, though availability is capped at 500 participants.

The helmet-mandatory trek will begin around 7 a.m. for metric century riders and 9 a.m. for everyone else taking off from Michigan Central Station.  Pre-ride carbs and coffee will be provided as will snacks and beverages throughout the day.

Registration is $70 and can be done so by visiting the event's official site.
