The sprawling sheds and warehouses of Detroit's Eastern Market district have been the main features of the nation's largest historic public market for decades. In recent years, however, visitors to the weekly markets have seen the neighborhood undergo a beautiful evolution as the Murals in the Market festival has stepped in to provide some much-needed eye candy to the neighborhood.

Since 2015, Murals in the Market has been bringing together local and international artists to create diverse works of art on the walls of Eastern Market. Now, Murals in the Market is already getting attention from the likes of Smithsonian magazine as one of the world's best mural festivals,  ranked side-by-side with mural festivals like Bristol's Upfest and Australia's Wonderwalls.
