Tommy Cooper once said that one should "always leave them laughing" and that's exactly what fearless comedy legend and Detroit native Gilda Radner did.

Directed by Lisa D'Apolito, Love, Gilda offers a rare glimpse into the complicated struggle faced by the woman who brought the likes of Roseanne Roseannadanna to life on the Saturday Night Live stage. Radner, who lost her battle with ovarian cancer in 1989, has continued her legacy through Gilda's Club, an organization started by her husband and fellow comedian Gene Wilder, and aims to offer support to those suffering from cancer.

Through personal recordings, journal entries, and the storytelling of friends, contemporaries, and comedians she has long since inspired, Love, Gilda will close out 2018's Cinetopia film festival with a screening at the Detroit Film Theatre on June 10. Cinetopia will feature over 44 world-renowned films starting on May 31 throughout Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Detroit.

For more information on Cineotopia and full line-up details visit the official website. Individual tickets are $15, $50 movie passes are available for students, and full festival passes are $125-$175 and can be purchased by here.
