Alt-country outfit Murder By Death to play Magic Stick

Posted By on Fri, Dec 29, 2017 at 11:23 AM

Bloomington, Indiana five-piece Murder by Death may have taken their name from a satirical Robert Moore film, but what they deliver is far removed. Gothic undertones (thanks to bursts of cello and haunting organ keys) with twangy, Wild West tumbleweed vibes is what sets Murder by Death apart from your typical alt-country outfit. The band, who has been kicking their brand of whiskey-soaked folk since 2000 have called upon Detroit’s folk elite Frontier Ruckus to support.

Murder By Death to play Magic Stick on Friday, Dec. 29 at 8 p.m.; 4120 Woodward Ave., Detroit; 313-833-9700; majesticdetroit.com; Tickets are $20 in advance, $25 day of show.
