Broadway star, recording artist, and YouTube star Todrick Hall has put a magical spin on the classic Wizard of Oz story for a new, younger audience. Hall is recognized mostly for his YouTube videos where he often parodies classic stories like Oz, so we’re not surprised that Hall is revising the story. Hall wrote 20 original songs for the production.

Wednesday, August 10 at Royal Oak Music Theatre. Doors at 7 p.m.; 318 W. Fourth St., Royal Oak; royaloakmusictheatre.com; 248-399-2980; tickets are $25-$100.
