It's not often that Detroit finds itself on the top of a list that begins with "The Best City to," and so when we're at the top, we just have to write about it ... especially if it involves a surprising category.

Always known for the auto industry or the large amount of blight, Detroit can potentially develop a new reputation as the best relaxation hot spot. Potential business owners take note: Detroit has been named as the best city to open up a yoga studio, according to SpareFoot Blog.

SpareFoot, in conjunction with business networking website Thumbtack.com, deemed Detroit as the best spot to open a yoga studio based on a variety of factors. These factors include price per session, rental costs, cost of living, and supply and demand.

According to Thumbtack.com, Detroit scored 75.71 on the Opportunity Index, which is based on the highest demand for yoga while controlling for supply. The website also considered the average cost of rental space and average cost per yoga session.

Yoga masters, take note. Open up shop in Detroit and you could find yourself on our next list of the best yoga studios in Detroit.
