Want a peek behind the scenes at the locations that are the background for one of this year's most hyped movies?

The long-awaited Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice opens Friday, and according to early reviews, the city of Detroit shines in its role as the fictional Gotham.

To accompany the release and to promote movie industry tourism, the Michigan Film and Digital Media Office has developed an app to guide fans through the sites used in the filming. The guide will feature familiar Detroit movie stars like Michigan Central Station and Belle Isle, along with other filming locations.

Developed by Mutually Human, a Grand Rapids company, the app is a self-guided tour of the locations used in the movie's 2014 filming. More than just an interactive map, the app is expected to contain movie clips, behind-the- scenes tidbits about the filming, and background about the sites themselves.

The app launches Friday, and you can bet we'll be among the first to check it out.
